The Icebox Radio Theater will conduct a workshop for all ages beginning with an informational meeting at 7 p.m. July 24 in Room B6 at the Backus Community Center.
The workshop will be a chance for anyone interested in audio drama or the Icebox Radio Theater to learn more, and participate in a real broadcast.
“The first workshop was a real success,” said Jeff Adams, director of Icebox Radio Theater.
He explained that about 12 people participated and after splitting into groups, a live 15-minute play was performed on the Internet.
Like the first, the second workshop will also consist of a hands-on experience. Participants can expect to get the chance to learn acting, sound effects and music first hand and participate in an actual broadcast performed in-studio. No audience will be present during the broadcast.
All ages are invited to participate in the workshop, but proficient reading ability is required. Adams said the first workshop brought in all different age groups.
A release highlighted the purpose of the event is to have fun telling stories. More information is available at www.iceboxradio.org
The Icebox Radio Theater is a non-profit organization, and participation to the workshop is by one-donation of any amount — even couch change. Email questions to home@iceboxradio.org.
