The International Falls Lions Club met April 4.

President Dick Schaak opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Beverly Mayfield offered the table prayer.

Minutes of the previous meeting and the treasurers report was given by Karen Briese.

Correspondence consisted of a request for the Multiple Sclerosis Walk and from the Lehman sisters who would like to go to Camp Needlepoint again this summer. This is an educational camp for diabetic children. There was also a thank you note from Strive.

Dick Briese announced that the Multiple District Convention will be April 29 in Mankato and the Cabinet meeting will be at 10 a.m. April 16 at Almost Lindy’s.

There was a lengthy discussion on kidney dialysis and the benefits of having a unit here in International Falls.

Second reading of nomination of officers was held and a white ballot was cast.

As a fund raiser we will proceed with a 50/50 draw with the winner being drawn on the Fourth of July.

The tail twister asked a question regarding the cover of the last issue of the Lions Magazine. Twenty-five cents if you knew the answer, $1 if you didn’t. The question was, “What food was featured in the cover?” Answer: Duluth pancake breakfast.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. May 2 at Lenard’s.
