The International Falls Lions Club met Jan. 3 at Lenard’s.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Karen Briese and Betty Villalta gave the invocation.
The meeting was opened by president Dick Schaak with a discussion of the upcoming Mid-winter Convention Jan. 28-30 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
The correspondence passed around consisted of the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank newsletter, Can-do Canines newsletter, Lions Club International Foundation regarding the Parade of Green, thank you from the Salvation Army for the donation to the Thanksgiving dinner and a thank you from the family of Gerald Perron.
Secretary Briese read the minutes followed by the treasurers report by Serene Milette.
A report was given on the success of the ice melt sales for 2010 and we will continue to have the 40-pound buckets available this year.
Nine charities were selected at $250 each for the Mid-winter Parade of Green.
Hole in One Golf and a silent auction was discussed as future fund raisers.
The next meeting will be Feb. 7 at Lenard’s with installation of new members.
