The International Falls Lions Club met June 7 at Almost Lindy’s.

President Dick Schaak opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the table prayer.

Karen Briese gave the minutes and treasurers report.

$600 was given to the two girls attending Camp Needlepoint, a camp for diabetics.

Space rental will be paid for the Fourth of July and the bass tournament where our lunch wagon will be open for business.

A local lady requested assistance in getting new glasses. It was voted to donate up to $300 to the doctor of her choice.

Karen Noland gave an update on the fall health fair. As the summer progresses, letters will be sent to participants and radio advertising will be done.

Emo, Ontario chartered 27 members. Dick and Karen Briese and Dick and Sally Schaak attended.

The Fourth of July lunch wagon was discussed. New on the menu this year will be pulled pork sandwiches, along with French fries, pop corn and cotton candy. Ice cold water will also be available.

Members are reminded that dues are to be paid July 1.

Thanks to Green-Larsen Funeral Home for the used eyeglasses. They will be refurbished and sent to Third World countries.

Lions will take a break for the summer and meet again at 6 p.m. Sept. 7 at Almost Lindy’s.
