Capt. Gary L. Gilchrist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Gilchrist, 130 Hiway Lane, arrived here from Saigon, Vietnam, for a 30-day leave.

First Lt. James R. Reardon, son of Mrs. Francis Holler, Blackstone Apartments, is being reassigned to Olmsted Air Force Base, Pa., following his graduation from the United States Air Force Squadron Officer School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., April 13.
Charles Michael (Mickey) Shuff, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Shuff, 104 Park Ave., has been awarded a $500 scholarship at Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Billy and Bobby, twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Don Mason, 418 Fifth St., will celebrate their first birthday on Easter Sunday.

Leading the 26-week season most of the way, the Hamm’s quintet last week won the Women’s City Bowling League championship with a record of 53 victories against 25 losses. Team members are Mrs. Joe Smith, Mrs. John Person, Mrs. Art Larson, Mrs. Henry Erickson and Miss Billie White.

Warplanes bearing the United States insignia bombed Tokyo and at least three other great Japanese cities for the first time in history today, strewing death and destruction across an 800-mile trail in a bold daylight assault that stirred bitter outcries from the Japanese people.
Private First Class Joseph Ludwig writes from Camp Callan, Calif., that the food is sure swell in the camp. Pvt. Ludwig should know, because he’s been doing the cooking for about a month now.
The government announced today that the nation’s first sugar ration allowance would be half a pound a week per person.
A three-day neighborhood search for Norman Bacon, 15, of the Ray community ended late Wednesday when the lad was seen walking on a road near Littlefork. Norman disappeared from his farm home northwest of Ray Sunday.
