Attorney Mark M. Abbott, 77, former municipal judge, former county agricultural agent and teacher here, died today at 9:45 p.m. in St. Mary’s Hospital, Duluth.
Miss Florence Hubbard, Falls Nursing Home, celebrated her 93rd birthday recently in her room with friends.
Michael Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson, recently completed three years in Malaysia. For two years he was with the Peace Corps as an English teacher. His last year was spent as a newspaperman in the Press Center.

Harold Morse, proprietor of Harold’s Men’s Wear, is improving at Falls Memorial Hospital today. Harold, who was to play the role of mother of the groom in the Rainy Lake Women’s Club TV variety show, was stricken with double pneumonia and had to relinquish his part late Friday to Eugene Granger.
Wenberg’s Transfer left this morning for Pigeon River after the household goods of Mr. and Mrs. Arnvid Anderson.
John B. Klow, 12, a Falls Junior High School seventh grader, won a second place blue ribbon and received a superior rating at the science fair on Saturday at Bemidji State College.
Peter Bilben, Margaret Hall, Judith Lundquist, Arlie Nicholson, Ronald Ostman, Wayne Thorson and Sandy Thunstrom were placed on the dean’s list at Bemidji State College.

Cpl. Patricia Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Schmidt, Island View Route, is spending a four-day furlough here before reporting to duty at Camp Stoneman, Calif.
District headquarters for the Minnesota division of forestry were established today in quarters on the second floor of the Shapiro building, 339 Third St. Ranger Nels A. Nelson is in charge of the International Falls district.
Sharon Kerry, 15, daughter of Alderman and Mrs. Urban Kerry, 523 Ninth St., submitted to an appendectomy in Falls Memorial Hospital.
Judy Bergstedt, 11, was disclosed today as winner of the coloring contest sponsored by Border Locker Mart. She will be awarded a brand new bicycle.

Mrs. Fred Beyer was guest of honor at a party last evening given by officers of the Star of the North Chapter, O.E.S., at the home of Mrs. George Porter.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vogelpohl left Sunday for Rochester where Mr. Vogelpohl will undergo an appendectomy Thursday.

Carl Barton Jr. arrived home from Milwaukee where he has worked for the last nine months. Last week he was inducted in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
