Border Texaco is the winner of the Bantam “B” League this past season and marks the fifth straight year they have won the title for their league. They are Scott Christianson, Tom Carey, Kevin Gordon, Kevin Constantine, Mike Hams, Bruce Turban, Doug Bryan, Chip Jesperson, Danny Ecklund, Paul DeMarchi, Nick Kochaniuk, Tom Williamson, Wendell Krzoska and Robb Blais. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ditsch, 1313 First Ave. E., were honored at a surprise 25th anniversary buffet dinner Sunday, April 16, at their home.
50 YEARS AGO
Mrs. Laddie Hubbell and children, Margaret, 2 1/2, and Kenneth, 1 1/2, Jameson Addition, departed by airliner Friday afternoon for San Diego, Calif., where they are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Matlock. It is 3 1/2 years since Mrs. Hubbell has visited her parents and is also the first time the grandparents have seen her children.
Saturday the Clarence Zahn family were guests at the Ralph Larson home celebrating Mr. Larson’s birthday.
Fifth grade basketball champions are Vern Erickson, Arnold Nass, Tim Blais, Robert Jackson, Donavon Judkins, Henry Kostiuk, Jim Fulton and Arthur Mark.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beckstrand, 424 Fourth St. (the Montgomery building), have as their guest their son, Delbert A. Beckstrand, fireman USN. Delbert is home on leave and will report back to San Diego, Calif., on May 5.

Lawrence Knase, a pressman formerly employed at Sauk Center, joined the Border Publishing Company staff this week.
Harland J. Gedney, Y.N.C., USN, is stationed at a naval recruiting station in New York City after recently completing a 15-month tour of duty aboard a troop transport between Korea and Japan.
A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Vnuck, Loman Route, weight, 9 pounds, 3 ounces. Name chosen, Margaret Rose.
Colleen Kirtland, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kirtland, Papermakers Colony, submitted to an appendectomy at Falls Memorial Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wold (Maybell Hoel) of Ray are parents of a son born today at the Littlefork Hospital. Ronald Roy are the names chosen for the child.
A new teacher salary schedule involving increases of approximately 12 percent was recently approved by the board of independent school district. Annual salaries next term will be: Principals, $2,600 per year (10 months); special teachers, $1,275 to 2,391; senior high teachers, $1,310 to 1,850; junior high teachers, $1,310 to 1,663; elementary teachers, $1,125 to 1,461; school nurse, $1,750 (10 months).
Brownies of Troop 10 have just completed making baby blankets for the Red Cross. Troop members are Doris Clauson, Darlene Gaines, Marilyn Malerich, Dona Sabourin, Jacqueline Seguin; Patricia Enhelder, Nancy Gustafson, Janet Larson, Virginia Wagner, Margaret Lynch, Jean Stormo, Helen Bromberg, Charlotte Kropke, Joanne Christie and Adele Ramsey.
Mike Suclocki, about 50, of the Riverside Hotel, died this morning at the Robert Gulick home in Carson-Lupie Addition, where he had gone to help dig a basement.
