Cameron Lepisto, a junior at Littlefork-Big Falls High School, spent the week of April 13-17 as a high school page for the state House of Representatives at the Capitol in St. Paul.
Workers last week moved an old wooden caboose from its longtime home behind Falls Lumber on Fourth Street and Second Avenue to Ranier, where new owner Barry Woods plans to convert it into a gift shop.

Kathleen Kirk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Kirk of 122 Park Ave., has been elected to the student senate at Concordia College, Moorhead.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Springsteel will be honored at an open house Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Ukrainian Hall on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary.
Nancy Niemi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benhard Niemi, 518 10th Ave., was named winner of the National Merit $1,000 scholarship today by Edward C. Smith, president of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The International Falls City Council recently named Al Beck as supervisor of buildings, parks and grounds.
John Sisco, Gene Portugue and Donald Villalta will be among the 250 voting delegates and several hundred visiting teachers attending the annual spring meeting of Minnesota Federation of Teachers in Minneapolis this weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Retter, 813 Ninth St., received a telephone call Easter Sunday from their daughter, Mrs. Jacquelyn Paulson, who is stationed with the United States weather bureau at McGrath, Alaska.
Norman L. Jurgensen, general paper superintendent at the Falls since April 1, 1952, has been appointed to fill the newly created position of special assistant to the general manager.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kalar, South International Falls, weight, 6 pounds, 9 ounces. Names chosen, Lou Anne Marie.
A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson, 1120 11th Ave., weight, 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
Relatives honored Mr. and Mrs. Louis Desens, 318 Sixth St., at a surprise 20th anniversary party Saturday evening.

Emil Del Pup, 915 Ninth St., was injured this morning when he fell from a ladder while at work as a pipefitter in the Minnesota and Ontario Paper Company plant.
Mrs. Dan Yurkiewich was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party at her home. Hostesses were Mrs. J.L. Albertson and Mrs. Valdemar Berglin.
Mrs. Gerald Swanson was guest of honor at a shower at the home of Mrs. Nick Markowski, 806 Fifth St. Hostesses were Mrs. Markowski and Mrs. Edward Metcalf.
Mr. and Mrs. Nahan W. Fitterman, who have resided in Fort Frances, have moved to this city and are making their home at 907 Sixth St.
