Navy Seaman Recruit Patrick C. Zawchenuk, son of Marlene E. Zawchenuk of 1307 Seventh Ave., has completed recruit training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego.

Miss Corinne E. Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myrl H. Brooks of the Falls, will be among 115 candidates receiving degrees April 30 at Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music at Winchester, Va.
K.A. “Cash” Micknal and his wife returned to the Falls April 20 from Florida where they resided during the winter months. Mr. Micknal stopped in The Journal office to show his sculpture which won the first place prize and a blue ribbon at the Monroe County Fair in Florida.
Two Insulite employees retired today with a total of 52 years of service to Boise Cascade and Mando. They are Warner Grandaw, millwright, and Clarence Helgeson, backer board inspector. Both reached age 65 this month.

Pvt. Wayne Pelland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Pelland, Black River, is receiving his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Gordon L. McRae of Bemidji was appointed today by Gov. Elmer L. Andersen to be 9th Judicial District judge, effective July 1. McRae will succeed Judge J.J. Hadler who has announced his intentions to retire.

Eight little friends were guests at a birthday party Sunday honoring Patty Murray, 4-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Murray, 1105 Ninth Ave.
The weather station at Municipal Airport posted a record 93 degrees Sunday afternoon for the International Falls district.
A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Myers, 1355 Colonization Road, Fort Frances, weight, 8 pounds, 2 ounces.
The family of Mr. and Mrs. George Dilworth Sr., South International Falls, gathered for the first reunion in 20 years when a Sunday dinner was served at the Dilworth home. Ten children, their husbands and wives and 10 grandchildren were present.

Thursday evening, Mrs. Herbert Norcross, Mrs. George Melin and Mrs. Everett Riley were hostesses at a shower complimenting Mrs. Easton Parsons, at the Riley home, Eighth Street.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Erickson (Eileen Anderson) of Ericsburg announce the birth of a son today at the Spurgeon home in Carson-Lupie Addition. He will be named Danny Owen.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stone (Marie Graham), 711 10th Ave., are the parents of a son born today at their home. David Earl are the names chosen for the child.
Stanley Norman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Louiseau, celebrated his second birthday by entertaining several little friends at a party at his home.
