Melissa Meyer of South International Falls has accepted an offer of admission from Gustavus Adolphus College and will enroll as a freshman at the college this fall.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. David Harju.
Mrs. Emma Marks, a resident of the Falls Nursing home, celebrated her 88th birthday this week. Birthday cake, provided by her daughters, Mrs. Chris Cantrell and Mrs. Barney Sanderson, was shared with the residents of the home and relatives and friends who visited Mrs. Marks.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Johnson and children, Becky and Ricky, have moved to St. Cloud. Mr. Johnson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson of Papermaker’s Colony, graduated from Rainy River State Junior College in June and will be attending St. Cloud State.
Miss Diane Kay Sugranis, daughter of Mrs. Mary Sugranis, 1107 Seventh St., and the late Steve Sugranis, and Daniel Blais, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Blais, 1300 14th St., were united in marriage July 21.

The family of Mrs. Delia Monrean, 1702 Third Ave. E., South International, enjoyed its first reunion in 15 years when they met at the Elmer Pelland home, Pelland’s Junction.
Robert Lindvall, a seven-year employee of the U.S. Information Agency, is visiting relatives in Borderland after serving two years in Sweden as cultural attache.
A boy was born today at La Verendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fiester, 209 Third St., International Falls, 7 pounds, 13 ounces.
Janet Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Anderson, 400 10th St., was the winner of the dress at the Lanz Fashion showing at the Specialty Dress Shop. The jumper-type dress with matching blouse was fashioned of quilted cotton print, and was imported from Austria.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ruud, South International Falls, weight, 8 pounds, 1 ounce. Name chosen, Marty Kreg.
A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. George Olson, 710 11th St., weight, 7 pounds, 5 ounces.
Mando veterans Carl Boe and Sam Gilbertson recently joined the growing ranks of men who have retired after many years of loyal service. Boe, a company millwright for 34 years, laid down his tools July 1. Gilbertson, an Insulite employee for almost all his 24 years with the concern, retired July 28.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Knapp, 1105 Eighth Ave., were honored at a surprise farewell party in their home. The Knapps and five children will leave Monday for Los Angeles, Calif., and plan to make their home in the West. The Knapp home has been sold to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Young of Rainy Lake.

Misses Eunice Blanchard and Vivian Goodwin left for Cleveland, Ohio, where they plan to work.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Kalar of Holler are parents of a daughter born today at the Laurion Maternity Home. Marilyn Lee are the names chosen for the child.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Loney (Florence Lovell) of Carson-Lupie Addition, announce the birth of a son today at the Laurion Maternity Home. Robin Dale are the names chosen for the child.
Sixty-five friends attended a farewell party at Ericsburg for Tony Gerlach. Tony has enlisted in the Air Corps and will leave soon.
