The Falls city council heard a revised proposal for a covered hockey rink Monday night — this time calling for a volunteer labor and contributions to build a 210-foot-by 110-foot steel building next to the bandshell.
The guiding force behind the Bronco football team are Wayne Haglund, John Nevanen, Frank Larson and Jim Larson. Many long hours are spent by these coaches in making up playbooks and putting the team through drills, scrimmages, and then the games.
Mrs. Clara Coran was honored on her 86th birthday yesterday at the home of her grandson, Donald Chowan.

Lyle Christie, case worker with the Koochiching County Board of Public Welfare, has received a Minnesota Department of Public Welfare scholarship to pursue graduate study in social work.
Miss Mary Fitzpatrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fitzpatrick, Littlefork, will become the bride of Rodney Waltenburg of Superior, Wis., at 12 noon Aug. 18 in St. Columban’s Catholic Church.
Leo Rasmussen, formerly of Minneapolis, has joined the sales staff of Sheridan Chevrolet, it was announced this week by Allen and James Sheridan, owners of the local General Motors dealership.
First Lieut. John C. Sathrum of the Falls was graduated from the U.S. Air Force’s Squadron Officer School at the Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., on Aug. 3.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Nelson, 818 Seventh St., announce the birth of a son at the Littlefork Hospital today. Mark Allen are the names chosen for the child.
Fred W. Coxon, long a valued employee of the Minnesota and Ontario Paper Company and a resident of International Falls since 1905, had quite an adventurous career in the West in his younger days. One of his treasured memories is his acquaintanceship and friendship for Theodore Roosevelt.
Alice Jane Paulson, 6-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Paulson, underwent a tonsillectomy at the Northern Minnesota Hospital yesterday.
Mrs. L.A. Larson left for Portland, Ore., to join her husband and make their home.
