A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Belmer Cole, 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
Mrs. Gerald Maxwell was guest of honor at a cradle shower recently at the Arnold Johnson home. Mrs. Maxwell’s sister, Mrs. Bill Dadiuk, assisted with the gift opening.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hedlund, 1000 Ninth St.; weight, 7 pounds, 8 ounces.
Mrs. George Bateman of Falls Country Club won the Major A.D. Gordon trophy match for ladies played Sunday at the Rainy Lakes Golf and Country Club.
Mrs. P.T. Kellner, 1134 Ninth Ave., was honored by friends at a stork shower at her home. Mrs. Roy Wold and Mrs. Frank Holt were hostesses.
70 YEARS AGO
Mrs. Emma Sampson of Littlefork has announced the marriage of her daughter, Irene Hazel, to Toby Lattu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lattu of Ray.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown (Dora Kaviuk) of Portland, Ore., announce the birth of a son Aug. 8 in Portland. The child is the first grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. John Kaviuk of this city.
Pvts. Lyle Peterson and Ignatius Chic have been transferred to a new field near Denver and are attending armament school.
Pvt. Richard P. is only one of Mrs. Sam Johnson’s contributions to the fighting forces. He is attached to a station hospital at Duncan Field, Texas. Mrs. Johnson’s other son in the service is Pvt. Bruce A. Johnson, currently at the Marine Corps base, San Diego. The boys hail from Papermakers Colony.
