Actors, technicians, and stagehands from throughout the country are currently staging five productions at the Minnesota Repertory Theater at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Among the 70-member MRT company is Susan K. Coulombe of International Falls.

Steven E. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon E. Johnson, Island View Route, was among the 490 students who achieved placement on the spring quarter dean’s list at Michigan Technological University.
Former Bronco prep star, Keith (Huffer) Christiansen, signed a two-year pact with the Minnesota Fighting Saints Thursday in Duluth.
Bob Rompre and sons, Mike, Tom and Jim, and daughter, Patty, returned to their home Friday at Waupun, Wis., after a two-week vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rompre, 708 Ninth St. Most of the time was spent at the lake enjoying fishing, boating and water skiing.
Dave Johnson, 31, was appointed county attorney by the county board Friday.

Helen Kay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Schwankl, 800 Third St., celebrated her sixth birthday with a small group of friends at an afternoon party at her home. The children were taken to Riverview Riding Stables for rides on the Shetland pony, Robert. One of the little guests, Janet Lovejoy, came dressed in an authentic buckskin outfit.
Fishing off the dock of Sha~Sha Resort, Tim Campeau, 609 12th Ave., caught a 10-pound, 1 1/2-ounce northern.
Kenneth Norenberg is the newest addition to the staff of pharmacists at the Falls Rexall Drug, it was announced today by L.E. “Russ” Russell, owner.
George Dahl, Loman logger, is convalescing at home following his release from Falls Memorial Hospital last week. He suffered a head wound while working in the woods.
60 YEARS AGO
Jack Kirtland, Loman Route, suffered back injuries this morning when he fell while unloading hay at his farm.
Friends honored Mrs. Henry Haugland, 708 10th St., at a stork shower in her home.
The VFW Club opened informally this morning in its new location at 2391/2 Third St. The new quarters in the Rex Hotel building give the club more space than was available at its former location, 405 1/2 Fourth St. A formal opening is planned next week, Frank Vertnik, club manager, announced today. Vertnik is assisted by Fritz Wolfe and Harry Corrin.
Grand March leaders for the annual Jobs Daughters summer ball at Falls Country Club were Mary Lou Hoselton, past senior princess and her escort, Robert Deventer and Janet Pavek, honored queen and Keith Price. The past honored queen, who is traditionally feted at the summer ball, is June Williams, who was unable to attend because she is confined to the Falls hospital with a virus infection.

Twelve friends called on Mrs. Alfred Carlson of Holler Friday afternoon to help celebrate her birthday. “It was a complete surprise and made me very happy,” Mrs. Carlson said. “I’m so thankful to my friends and neighbors for everything.”
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Servis of Holler announce the birth of a son Aug. 2 at their home. Delane Reuben are the names chosen for the child.
Pvt. David Pollar of Camp Debert, Nova Scotia, is visiting his aunt, Mrs. Thomas Pollard, 807 Eighth St.
Adeline Kantor has returned from a vacation in Baltimore, Md., where she visited her boyfriend, Allen Gerlach, who is attached to the Army Air Corps. Allen must have enjoyed his relief from answering Adeline’s letters. You know she wrote him twice daily.
