Mrs. Carl Johnson was guest of honor at a shower at the home of Mrs. Alfred Johnson. Hostesses were Mrs. Leonard Peterson and Mrs. Peter Johnson.
L. Roy Lutz, deputy treasurer of Koochiching County for almost 12 years, has resigned his post and plans to leave soon for northwestern Canada to be employed as an auditor on the Alaskan highway project.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Thompson, Progress Park, celebrating their silver wedding anniversary, received a double surprise. Early in the evening a group of friends gathered at the Thompson home for a party, and a little later their son, Cpl. L.D. “Bud” Thompson, stationed in Camp Stewart, Calif., called long distance to extend congratulations.
