Butch Solvin, Ray North Road, celebrated his 11th birthday last Monday evening with Bruce Lagergren, John and Pat Nolin and David Hay as guests for supper and ice cream and cake served by his mother, Mrs. H. Solvin.
The Falls High School Junior Varsity debate team posted its best record of the season Saturday at Detroit Lakes High School by winning the first place trophy with a six win-no loss record. Team members are Glen Solo, Leslie Johnston, Robyn Whitbeck and Kurt Summer.
Announcement was made today by Albert Larson, Boise Cascade paper mill controller, of the hiring of Ronald Eklund, cost accountant. Eklund, 29, is a native of International Falls and the son of Fred Eklund, a former veteran of Mando and Boise.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Perrault, 7 pounds, 10 3/4 ounces.
Two Falls area men leave for the armed services Tuesday morning. Harvey Lawrence Dilly and James W. Forsythe will report to the Federal Office building in Minneapolis Tuesday afternoon.
Ray E. Elsea, superintendent of the Nashwauk, Keewatin and Goodland schools, was hired by the Board of Education of District 361 to succeed Leo H. Dominick, retiring superintendent of school here, effective July 1, 1963.
Jacquie Adleff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Adleff, 1801 Fifth Ave. E., was elected honored queen of Bethel 14, Order of Job’s Daughters.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sugranis, 819 Fifth St.
Richard Haugland, 8, is in Falls Memorial Hospital following an operation for tonsillitis performed this morning.
Pfc. Charles A. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Thompson, 401 Ninth St., has returned to Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Calif., after a leave spent here with his parents.

Mrs. Dale Covel was guest of honor at a shower at the home of Mrs. Floyd Kettner, 1123 Seventh St.
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. Roche (Burness Vold), 918 Eighth St., announce the birth of a son today at the Littlefork Hospital. Patrick James Jr. are the names chosen for the child.
Mary Ada are the names chosen by Mr. and Mrs. James Pelland, 609 Seventh Ave., for their daughter born today at the Northern Minnesota Hospital.
Mrs. Walter Hafdahl, who plans to leave for Portland, Ore., was honored at a farewell party at the Lawrence Ruelle home, 514 Seventh Ave.
