Randy and Pam Crane of Loman and sisters Tiffany and Chelsee proudly announce the birth of their daughter and sister, Mallory Jean, who was born today.

Ivan and Murlene Schrock of Loman proudly announce the birth of their son, Ivan William, today. Ivan weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.

On Saturday afternoon, Dec. 9, Miss Mary Morse was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower in the home of Mrs. Peter Ettestad, 1410 11th St.

New members of the Ladies Auxiliary to Peter Graham Post 2948 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars are Mrs. Clifford (Evelyn) Wagner, Mrs. Robert (Pauline) Hartje, Mrs. John (Doris) Sop and Mrs. Muriel Tolle.

Lyle E. Christie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Christie, 915 Sixth St., who is a marriage and family counselor for the Catholic Welfare Services of Minneapolis, is the winner of the 1972 Monsignor John O’Grady Award competition.

50 YEARS AGO

Twins were born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Allen Janttie, girl, 7 pounds; boy, 6 pounds, 4 1/4 ounces.

Two new janitors were hired by the Board of Education of District 361 at its regular meeting last evening. Hired to fill two vacancies on the maintenance staff were John Peterson, Island View Route, and John Napper, 600 Seventh St.

Dear Santa — I only want two or three things this year. Those things are especially a .22 boys model or a BB gun or airplane. I love airplanes and guns. Guns are my favorite for now but when I get older I will be interested in jets. I hope I have been a good boy. It has been a long year, well, it’s time to say goodbye. Mike Fiedler.

60 YEARS AGO

About 25 children and their parents attended a Christmas party in the Thompson and Kendall garage showroom. All children of employees and tenants in the building were invited to the party planned by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was ill and could not attend the party.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Anton Koschak, 623 1/2 Sixth St., weight, 8 pounds, 12 ounces. Name chosen, Michael Robert.

Three students of the Patricia Lynch Studios in the Falls will record piano selections for re-broadcast over CKFI. Hartman Brothern and Helen and Russell Hanover will record to piano music at the Carl Wolfe Studio in Fort Frances today.

Masons of Koochiching Lodge No. 270, A.F. and A.M., this week elected Roderick Mansfield as their worshipful master to succeed Norman Selsaas.

70 YEARS AGO

Robert James are the names chosen by Mr. and Mrs. John Nordberg, 1020 11th St., for their son born Dec. 13 at the Littlefork Hospital. The Nordbergs have another son and a daughter.

Mrs. Frank Lagerstrom (Mary Seibert) was guest of honor at a shower at the Edward Raboin home. Hostesses were Mrs. Raboin, Mrs. William Everett, Mrs. Emil Kalar and Miss Hazel Dahl.

Wilbur R. Byman has been given the right to wear corporal’s stripes by his organization commander. Corp. Byman is assigned to the 508th Basic Flying squadron at Perrin Field, Texas.

The Marvin Bolstads moved from their lake home into town last week. Neighbors report Marvin moved everything but his breakwater.
