William Alfred Sheasby Jr., 40, a resident of Mizpah for the last eight years, died today while driving his car north of Mizpah on Forest Grove County Road.
The first-place winner in the second annual Falls Christmas lighting contest is the display at the home of Ron Anderson, 1501 Ninth Ave.

Robert Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson, 1406 First Ave. E., and Chris Kittelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kittelson, 1401 First Ave. E., have enlisted in the U.S. Navy under the three-year seafarer-airmen program.
Paul Green, a 1971 Bronco graduate, is playing hockey for St. Louis University.
Mrs. Don Podpeskar had a noon luncheon in her home Friday in honor of her aunt, Mrs. Francis Otness, who left Saturday for Seattle, Wash., to spend the winter months with her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Bergstrom and family.

Two longtime employees who retired Nov. 30 were Everett Green, Island View Route, and Guy Lyman, 714 10th St.
Steven O. Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Schultz, 510 11th Ave., completed recruit training Dec. 14 at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. John Stormo, 811 Fifth St., has left for Bismarck, N.D., where she will spend the Christmas holidays and part of the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Clara Wisard and her granddaughter, Mrs. Frederick Theiss.
A Red Owl store again is in operation in International Falls. The store is owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. George Liebe and previously was the Border Locker which they have operated for a number of years.

Bob Rompre has changed from civvies and a Colorado college hockey uniform to Marine Corps “greens” but the Falls youth is still enjoying the fastest game in sports — hockey. Arriving home for a 12-day furlough, Rompre disclosed he has been playing hockey with Los Angeles and Oakland sextets of the Pacific Coast League.
Sgt. Harlan Christianson arrived home on a 15-day leave from Smyrna, Tenn., where he is stationed with a motor vehicle squadron at Sewart Air Force Base.
Mrs. Clarence Kalb, 800 10th St.,, entertained the Bridgettes at a Christmas party. Gifts were exchanged and Mrs. Leslie Graham and Mrs. Art Field won bridge honors.
Mrs. Leo Brunette and Mrs. Chet Sumner entertained their sewing club at a Christmas party at the Sumner home, 1033 Second St. Games were played and prizes awarded to Mrs. Wilfred Beach, Mrs. Ivan Keeney and Mrs. Clarence Ruelle.

Mrs. A. Majewske was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party at her home. Hostesses were Mrs. James Christie and Mrs. Lucius Evenson.
Miss Beth Murray and Miss Erna Mae Howard were included in the group of 28 women from Minnesota and North Dakota inducted into the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps at Minneapolis.
Pvt. George Moe writes from Fort Lewis, Wash., that he is going to military police school there and if he can make the grade will be stationed at that post for some time.
Jim King, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank King, who attends Notre Dame University, South Bend, Ind., has arrived home to spend the Christmas holidays.
