U.S. Foreign Service Officer Michael H. Anderson, native of International Falls, recently began his new assignment as press attache at the American Embassy in New Delhi, India. He is the son of Paul A. Anderson, 125 Riverview Boulevard.
Two Bronco swimmers took first places in Cloquet in a five-team invitational meet as the Falls took second place. Senior Pat O’Brien was a double winner. He took a first place in the 200 freestyle and a first place in the 500 freestyle. Senior Noah Misner took first place in the 100 backstroke.

Tim McGauley, Douglas Bigler, LeRoy Keeney and Robert Friesen are new members of the Scouting Troop Pack 151.
Airman Arthur B. Cassibo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Iver O. Cassibo of 1701 Main Ave., South International Falls, has graduated at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, from the U.S. Air Force pavement maintenance specialist course conducted by the Air Training Command.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rask, Dean Edward, 6 pounds, 5 1/2 ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. James C. Cummings, Newport, Rainy Lake, left by bus for Winnipeg recently where they will board a plane for Hawaii.
Mrs. Theresa Allen of Bremerton, Wash., is a guest at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kalb, Penney Apartments. Mrs. Allen is a former Falls resident.
Miss Carole Oustad was home for Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Oustad. Miss Oustad is employed at the Local Loan Company in Minneapolis.
60 YEARS AGO
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Iraci, 420 Ninth St., entertained at a holiday party for their daughters, JoAnn, Antoinette and Carol. Thirty guests attended. Games were played, carols sung, gifts exchanged and refreshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Iraci assisted by Mrs. Joe Soderlind and Miss Priscilla Daignault.
A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Reo Brown, Littlefork, weight, 7 pounds.
The Christmas Day dinner party at the Harry Noland home, 714 Eighth St., was an occasion for a double celebration. The family also celebrated the 93rd birthday anniversary of W.H. Ault, grandfather of Mrs. Noland, Wendell, Harlyn and Loren Sartain, all of whom were present at the dinner.
First Christmas home in eight years. That was Santa’s present to Edward K. Zurick, former International Falls man now serving with the U.S. Merchant Marine.
70 YEARS AGO
Mrs. Joe Tracy (Helen Maruk) arrived today from Minneapolis to visit indefinitely at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Maruk. Her husband is at Fort Snelling waiting to be assigned to an Army camp.
Sgt. Burton L. Bruggeman arrived home this week from Holabird, Md., to spend his furlough with Mrs. Bruggeman, his parents and friends. It is his first trip home since he left several months ago.
Andrew Bartkowski was taken ill last Friday and is now at the Littlefork Hospital.
Darrel Hardy, 5th floor Insulite, hung up his work clothes last week and signed an indefinite contract with Uncle Sam’s seagoing crew.
