Champions of GAA basketball for 1972-73 are the Goofy Blues, an all senior team. Team members are Peg Fuller, Jo Rehn, Miriam Anderson, Peggy Mahle, Sue Turry, Ann Blair, Penny Schultheis, Deb Eisenzoph, Sandy Elo, Nancy Berg, Suzette Bacon, Sharon Boomgaarden and Cindy Gorder.
New members Vera Tuey, Helen Caswell, Rose Nesbitt and Elizabeth Boquist were pledged and initiated during the Feb. 5 meeting of the Alpha Delta Kappa, international honorary sorority for women educators.

Norbert Goulet and Dennis Christianson spent a recent night in a deserted trapper's cabin on the shore of Meggisi Lake. It seems they had so much trouble starting their plane, it was 48 below, that by the time they were ready to leave, it was too darky and foggy to fly.

Roy Miller, 24, who was injured last weekend while cranking a truck at the Cities Service Station, Third Avenue and Eighth Street, where he was employed, was taken to Minneapolis today to receive specialist treatment at Swedish Hospital.
70 YEARS AGO
Miss Edna M. Sundin of Ray has completed her machine shop training at the NYA war production center in Duluth and has been transferred to a St. Paul defense plant. She will be employed as a machine tool operator.
Mrs. Joe Raymond, Miss Alice Thompson and Miss Dorlies Thompson entertained at the Raymond home, 205 12th St., complimenting Mrs. Trygve Andersen.
Miss Ruth Eidsberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Eidsberg of this city, and Miss Lena Fedoruk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fedoruk of Fort Frances, left Sunday for Duluth where they will attend NYA School. Both girls are taking machine shop training.
Edward Zurick, son of Mrs. Mary Zurick, 708 Fourth Ave., and Garfield C. Gauthier, son of Joseph Gauthier of Holler, left for San Francisco, Calif., to join the Merchant Marine.
