Eight ladies gathered at the home of Irene Cox Thursday afternoon for a coffee party in honor of Alice Nordstrom's birthday.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nordness, 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
Two new additions to the Falls High hockey team are Tim Sheehy and Dan Mahle.
Mrs. Hannah Booth, Mrs. Roy Krats and Mrs. Inez Laurin of the Falls spent a day at the home of Mrs. Ray Warner, Big Falls, last week and helped Mrs. Booth celebrate her birthday.
City Engineer Albert Cousins was inducted into the Falls Rotary Club as a new member by Paul Bartholomew, club secretary.

About 15 friends honored Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Christianson, Island View Route, at a surprise party at their home.
New officers of Brownie Troop 124 are: Loretta Skaro, president; Mary Lee Carlson, vice president; Lea Etta Borg, secretary; and Linda Green, scribe.
A Falls team of pint-size hockey players, 13 strong, will leave the city tomorrow morning for Eveleth where they will battle it out with seven other sextets for the Pee Wee championship of Minnesota. They are Wayne Darval, Billy Cronkhite, David Swanson, Tom Glowack, David Frank, Oscar Mahle, Wayne Gordon, Gene Steele, Mike O'Handley, Gary Thompson, Tom Neveau, Elmer Walls and Rockey Hafdahl. The boys will be accompanied by Recreation Director Bill Howard, Assistant Director Aldo DeMarki, and Coach Buck Riley.

The Ranier unit of the Koochiching County Red Cross will meet Wednesday in the Ranier Community Hall. Each woman attending is asked to bring her own tablespoon of coffee and five cents to take care of lunch.
Miss Dolly Darval, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Darval, is a patient in St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth following a tonsillectomy.
Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Gray, accompanied by Vernon Cole, left today for Alameda, Calif., where they will make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Broderson of Jameson Addition are parents of a son born today at the Laurion Maternity Home.
