A well-known pioneer of Koochiching County, Mrs. Stephen Mannausau, 90, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Falls Memorial Hospital where she had been admitted Dec. 17.
Sheriff Milton Kochaniuk Monday appointed Ray Julien to be in charge of the four-man deputy squad sworn in by him Monday.
Miss Rita Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jackson, 1319 11th Ave., who recently completed an I.B.M. course at the Key Punch Training Center, Detroit, Mich., is employed at the J.A. Price Insurance Company in Minneapolis.

Sgt. 1/c Leo Toninato was honored guest at a family party Saturday evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. Toninato, 1100 11th St. Sgt. Toninato will leave Saturday to report to an army camp in Colorado.
Janice McEldowney, 17, is confined to Falls Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries received in a tobogganing accident Sunday.

Miss Mary Toninato, who will leave here Sunday for Daytona Beach, Fla., to report for training in the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps, entertained the eight girls of the local telephone office at an Italian spaghetti dinner at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. John Bergstrom were honored on their 25th wedding anniversary recently when a large number of friends from the Lindford and Littlefork communities gathered at their home to spend the evening.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Thompson, Third Avenue, at the Northern Minnesota hospital today.
Henry Zigo has been promoted to first sergeant at Camp Gruber, Okla.
