A boy, Christopher John, was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene McLinn, 111 Eighth Ave., 7 pounds, 4 1/2 ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Pasquale Pulicicchio departed by train from Fort Frances Saturday afternoon for Toronto, Ontario, for a brief but interesting visit. In Toronto, Mr. Pulicicchio will again see his sister, Maria, whom he has not seen since he left Italy as a young boy 50 years ago.
Pete Grandaw’s rink was eased out of the three-way for first place in the MEC Curling standings by Mark McBride’s rink Sunday evening in play at the Fort Frances Curling Club.
Roberta Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Johnson, 802 Sixth St., accompanied Police Captain and Mrs. James Christie to Billings, Mont., where she was a guest of her former schoolmate, Chrystee Lea Wilson, during the holidays.

A son was born today at La Verendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Sheehy, 849 Riverside Drive, weight, 9 pounds. Mr. and Mrs. Sheehy have three daughters, Maureen, Sheila and Molly and two other sons, Timothy and Terence.
Members of the 1300 Block Club met Thursday for a 1 o’clock luncheon at the home of Mrs. Thomas Shewchuk, 1319 Ninth Ave., to honor Mrs. Bernhard Talsness on her birthday anniversary.
Pvt. Orphier J. Amiot, son of Mrs. J.A. Roth, has been selected to attend the 5th armored division’s food service school at Camp Chaffee, Ark.

The local Elks Lodge recently initiated new members Philip F. Murray, Gus A. Leluan and Emil W. Beyers.
Wayne Allen left for Northfield. Allen will spend the next three months taking a naval pre-flight course at St. Olaf College.
