A girl was born today at La Verendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. Abe Thiessen, the Falls, 6 pounds, 14 ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Skov, 1311 Second Ave. E., wish to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Sandra Kay, to John Dunham Jr., son of John Dunham, Sr., 910 11th St.
A farewell party will be given at the Ericsburg church for the Rev. George Parks and his family Saturday evening at 7:30. They have accepted a pastorate at the Baptist church at St. Francis. Rev. Parks has been pastor of the Ericsburg church for the past four years.
Tom Morse, a former Falls hockey star and member of the University of Minnesota hockey team, won a berth on the 1963 U.S. National hockey squad, it was announced today.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. George Marklund, 805 Seventh St., weight, 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
Mr. and Mrs. John Skrumeda, Goldville Addition, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday with an open house beginning at 4 p.m. at their home.
Mrs. Anton Netlund, 1105 Eighth St., was honored at two birthday parties at her home in celebration of her 79th birthday anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. McCormack, Sunset Beach, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Lorraine, to Flight Officer Ellard D. Youngberg of the U.S. Army Air Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Youngberg, Sauk Rapids.
Donald W. Hartje has begun an intensive course of study in aviation mechanics at Armillio Army Air Field, Armillio, Texas.
Lewis Reeves left last week for Duluth where he is now employed. The family plans to move down there soon.
Miss Patricia Grinsell, 514 Sixth St., has reported for duty at the NYA war production training center in Duluth. She is enrolled for a course in drafting and has agreed to accept employment in a war industry on completion of her studies.
