Airman Second Class Duane Gorder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoffman, 316 Fifth St., arrived home Sunday on a 20-day leave from Fairchild Air Base, Spokane, Wash. He will be married on Jan. 31 to Miss Loretta Arlene Cyr at St. Joseph’s Rectory in Chisholm.

Arthur J. Nelson of Littlefork, former deputy sheriff, reports plans to leave this week for Los Angeles, where he will be employed in war work.

Mrs. Agnes Gilchrist has been appointed to the staff of the county welfare office and begins her duties next week.

After telling members of the Margaret Corell Club about her trip to Africa, where she was to become the bride of Onni Koski, Mrs. Koski described life on a Firestone rubber plantation in Liberia. Their daughter, Mary Gail, was the first white child born on the Firestone plantation near Munrovia.

Patricia Holler is a new addition to the stenographic staff of the MD&W Railroad.
