Falls Mayor Jack Murray presented Evelyn Henrickson with an honorary citizen certificate. Henrickson, who joined the Greater International Falls Chamber of Commerce in 1986, will step down as its executive director.

Christine West, daughter of James and Kathleen West, of 1402 10th St., is participating in a College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University January term course called “Clinical Experience” J.F. Kennedy.

Dean Blais is again leading the Minnesota Gophers hockey team in scoring this season with 25 points, 11 goals and 14 assists.

Rep. Irv Anderson was awarded the title “Legislator of the Year” recently during a dinner of the United Veterans Organization in the Twin Cities.

Julie Lucachick will be student teaching kindergarten at the Holler Elementary School during winter quarter.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Byron Milender, 6 pounds, 15 1/2 ounces.

A daughter was born today at La Verendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. Runo Korpi, 5 pounds, 7 ounces.

Mrs. Virginia Gunther, South International, and her four children are back home after a three-month stay on the West Coast. Margaret, 11, Paula and Pamela, 8, and Bob, 7, all attended school while they were in California and all attended Spanish classes.

Mrs. Jenny Jeffereys returned Friday after spending a month in Minneapolis with relatives and friends.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. George Vahara, 1312 Seventh Ave., weight, 6 pounds, 12 ounces. Name chosen, Robert Dean.

Bro. Edward Donnelly, O.M.I., 68, who was caretaker at St. Thomas school and church here since 1919, died this morning.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. William Immel, weight, 5 pounds, 8 ounces.

A son was born today at La Verendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jourdain, Riverside Apartments.

Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Furman announce the marriage of their daughter, Mae Beryl, to Pvt. Leonard Sutherland, son of  Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sutherland of this city.

Pfc. Douglas S. Robertson, son of Stuart Robinson of Indus, is alive. The Koochiching County Marine, first from this locality to win the Purple Heart, is a prisoner of war in Japanese-occupied Philippines.

Mr. and Mrs. Jay Dunbar, Loman Route, are parents of a daughter born today at the Laurion Maternity Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ericson, 1309 1/2 Second St., announce the birth of a son today at the Northern Minnesota Hospital.
