The Louis Nolin home was the scene of a Happy Christmas and family reunion, the first time in about 12 years they had all eight children home.
Mel Solberg, director of Bemidji Technical Institute, is pleased to announce that Carolyn Brenning from Ranier, enlisted in the occupational skills program, has been named to the director’s list.

The Mrs. Jaycees hosted a Christmas party for Miss Kayala’s class at Falls Elementary School. Mrs. Larry Lewis, local Aid to Retarded Children chairman, organized the party and was assisted by the Mmes. James Lacher and Michael LeDuc.
Richard G. Romens will retire Friday after 33 years of service as the Littlefork postmaster.
Elmar Thordson of Reykjavik, Iceland, returned to the Falls for a visit after a three-year absence. Elmar graduated from Falls High School in 1969 as an exchange student which was sponsored by the Falls Rotary Club.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. John Gunderson.
Pam Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.K. Davis, Island View Route, and a freshman at Macalester College, St. Paul, has been chosen to be a member of Mademoiselle magazine’s 1963 National College Board.
Howard Marquardt was elected president of the Koochiching County Sportsmen’s Association.
Patrick B. Pullar, equipment operator second class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin G. Pullar, is serving at the Naval Station, Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico.

The 6-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hjalmer Arola is improving. She has been a patient at Falls Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Inger Helgeson Klemetsrud, 89, Falls resident since 1939, died Friday at her home, 1112 1/2 Ninth Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Houglum and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pavleck and sons, Darlene Abrahamson and Donald Frank were New Year’s Day dinner guests at the Clarence Ness home.
70 YEARS AGO
Mrs. William Skrief Jr. (Viola Nelson) has accepted a position as visitor in the county welfare office. She will replace Miss Helen Cherney.
Announcement — Dave’s Standard Service is now operated by Joe Jones Jr. and will be run under the name of Joe’s Standard Service.
Cadet Irvin Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Anderson, and Cadet Walter Whitbeck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Quay Whitbeck, left Saturday for Seattle, Wash., to begin training in the Naval Air Corps.
Henry Graham, 74, a grand old man and a doggone good Mando pipefitter, hung up his work clothes and laid aside his tools, stepping aside to let some young fellow carry on the job.
