There will be a baby shower in honor of Stephen David Swenson Briggs, son of Dianne Swenson and Stephen Briggs July 16 at 7 p.m. at the David Swenson residence, Van Lynn Road.
First American Bank President Mike Ginter has left the International Falls bank to take a similar position with the First American Bank in Amery, Wis. The board has appointed Gary Bigler interim president until a replacement is selected for Ginter.

Frank Pavek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Pavek, 148 Riverview Boulevard, was recently presented the U.S. Navy Achievement Medal and Citation for service he rendered serving in Vietnam.
A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Brian Keeney.
Miss Roberta Chute left for Duluth on Tuesday to begin a year of training in medical technology at St. Luke’s Hospital.

A girl was born today at Littlefork Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Severt Thompson Jr., Littlefork.
Mrs. Margaret Schneider, Crystal Beach, entertained at a birthday party Friday honoring her 13-year-old daughter, Susan.
Terry Kolden, 15, narrowly missed being an entry in the State Jaycee Golf Tournament. Kolden finished in fifth place in the regional held in Virginia over the weekend.

Airman Second Class Wallace Herman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herman, 1015 Sixth St., is spending a furlough from Chanute Air Force Base, Ill., with his parents.
Miss Margaret Christensen, 212 Fourth Ave., was guest of honor at a pre-nuptial shower in Ukrainian Hall.
Mason Barney retired from Mando July 1 after 30 years of service.

Miss Gertrude Sandstrom, a member of the county superintendent’s office staff for six years, has resigned and gone to the West Coast with friends. Her successor is Mrs. Mary Jane Harris.
Fred J. Ludwig of 609 Fifth Ave. today began his new duties as guard at Municipal Airport. He replaces Frank Curtin, who was granted a leave of absence.
Miss Eris Bergval recently joined the M.D. & W. Railway office staff as a clerk.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Heibel of Jameson Addition announce the birth of daughter today at the Laurion Maternity Home. Linda Lou are the names chosen for the child.
