Cameron Lepisto has achieved what no other Boy Scout in his home town has attained. At the close of June, the 16-year-old Big Falls youth earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

A boy was born today to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Morff, 5 pounds, 11 1/2 ounces.

A boy was born July 9 at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Balcolm, 4 pounds, 13 ounces.

Mrs. Eugene Leerssen and infant son, Kevin, were complimented at a stork shower at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Phyllis LaValley was named Koochiching 4-H style queen and will represent the county in competition at the Minnesota State Fair.

60 YEARS AGO

Two International Falls brothers who haven’t seen each other for almost three years will be reunited in Copenhagen, Denmark, July 15. Bob Murray, football star at University of Minnesota, Duluth Branch, is flying to Europe to meet his brother, Bill, a Marine Corps veteran assigned to the U.S. embassy staff in Warsaw, Poland.

A son was born yesterday at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. August Dura, Fourteenth Street West, weight, 10 pounds, 8 ounces.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Smith of this city are parents of a daughter born July 10 at the Laurion Maternity Home. Sharlyn Rae are the names chosen for the little girl.

Miss Ruth Place of LaGrange, Ill., has arrived here to spend the summer at her summer home on Rainy Lake.

Cordelia Mary are the names chosen by Mr. and Mrs. Warner Grandaw, 1017 Eighth St., for their daughter born July 4 at the Laurion Maternity Home.

Arthur Holmstrom and Vernon Sabotta left this morning for Minneapolis where they will attend the Aquatennial.
