Nicollette Anderson, Vivian Ewing, Alan Johnson, Colin Kantor and John Kaviuk qualified for the spring quarter dean’s list at Moorhead State University.
Mrs. Gerry (Jill) Hemstad was appointed to the English department at Rainy River State Junior College, according to an announcement by Ralph Anderson, dean of instruction. She will fill the vacancy of Miss Sally Jewson.
Miss Jacqueline Geving, Miss Catherine Villalta and Miss Nancy Barber have been named to the dean’s list at the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth.

A miscellaneous bridal shower was given in honor of Miss Margaret Hall at the home of Mrs. Max Goulet, 418 Seventh St.
Bill Anderson, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin (Carl) Anderson of Loman, who was injured in a farm accident on July 16, is making satisfactory recovery at the Littlefork Hospital.
BJ Music beat Border Bar 14-3 in city recreation softball Tuesday evening. Winning pitcher was Larry Roche and losing pitcher was Bill Bruce.
County board of commissioners at their Tuesday meeting appointed Einar Johnson as building inspector for the new county nursing home now under construction.

Alfred (Pete) Peterson of Goldville Addition, best known to Falls youngsters as the “sleighride man,” lost his home and all his personal belongings in a fire Saturday evening. Peterson is staying with Sam Gilbertson in the Falls until he can obtain new quarters.
International Falls High School, one of the football powers of the state last season, placed two men on the All Star North team which will play the best in the South in Minneapolis Aug. 29. The Broncos are Dick LaPage, all-conference and all-state quarterback, and Jerry Culbertson, unanimous all-conference selection at guard.
Mrs. R.W. Sowder, who will leave soon to join her husband at Newton, Iowa, was honored guest at a bridge party Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Robert Binger, 902 Second St.
Elizabeth Jean Millard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George K. Millard, 804 Third St., was baptized Sunday in St. Thomas Catholic Church. Sponsors were her uncle, Jerome Vonder Haar of Mesa, Ariz., and aunt, Miss Barbara Vonder Haar of the Falls.

Mrs. Freda Dragoman, about 53 years old, well-known International Falls resident, died this afternoon in St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth, of injuries received this morning in an accident.
A by-law recently passed by the city council and ordered to take effect Aug. 1, provides that boys and girls under 14, must be off the streets and away from public places by 9:30 p.m. every day unless in the company of a parent or legal guardian. What’s more, they must stay off the streets until 6 a.m.
Jack Prettyman, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Prettyman, left Sunday for Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he will be employed.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hanson are living on their farm at Pelland, having recently moved from the Falls.
