The Koochiching County Assessor’s Office has fielded over 200 inquiries about Bidstead, a land exchange program designed to attract new residents, following a report on the program on a Minneapolis television station. Marty Cody, assistant county assessor, said the office received 80 phone calls on Tuesday on the program and an additional 70 phone calls on Wednesday after a report aired Monday on WCCO-TV.
Jeffrey D. Klemetsen of Route 7 qualified for the Mankato State University honor list. To qualify for the honor list, a student must earn a 3.5 to 3.99 average.

M.J. (Jim) Stone, purchasing agent for the Falls Paper Division, will officially retire tomorrow, his 64th birthday.
Mrs. Anna Robertson, a resident of the Falls Nursing Home, will celebrate her 83rd birthday Aug. 1.
Thomas T. Anderson, Dianne L. Carnahan, Nancy E. Glowack and Mary A. Woods achieved grades of straight A during spring quarter at University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Susan Ettestad of the Rainy Lake Rousers 4-H Club, who was last year’s Beginners Dress Revue queen, crowned Sonia Mortenson of the Young Citizens 4-H Club as the 1972 queen at the Littlefork Fair last weekend.

A. Kenneth Unger, managing editor of The Daily Journal and a staff member for the past 16 years, will leave the Falls Wednesday to assume a new post with Padilla, Sergeant, Sullivan and Speer, Minneapolis advertising and public relations firm.
A boy was born July 28 at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bolstad, 7 pounds, 11 1/2 ounces.
A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bernard, 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
Susan Museta celebrated her ninth birthday Saturday with a party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Museta, 612 10th St.

A new business, Robinson’s Texaco Service, was formally opened today at Third Avenue and Eighth Street. The proprietor is Robert Robinson, brother of Mando pitcher Jack Robinson, who also works at the station.
Susan Kay Kerry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kerry, 907 Second St., entertained 32 girls at a birthday party Wednesday afternoon at her home. She will be 11 on Saturday.
Mrs. Anton Hanson, Highway 53, was honored at a birthday party at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. James Smart, 521 Eighth St. She is 83.
Mrs. Robert (Helen) Oveson and children, Bonnie, Connie and Terry, Dayton Apartments, were honored at a combination farewell and birthday party during a meeting of the Salvation Army Home League. Mrs. Oveson and children will leave soon to join S/Sgt. Robert Oveson at Nagona, Japan, where he is stationed.

Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Larson, 1218 Seventh Ave., are parents of a son born today at the Northern Minnesota Hospital. Larry Dennis are the names chosen for the child.
Larry Pelland underwent a tonsillectomy today at the Northern Minnesota Hospital.
