Rainy River State Dean of Instruction, Ralph Anderson, today announced the appointment of Mr. Arthur Przybilla as an English-speech instructor at the college.

Mrs. Francis Gerlach, 918 10th St., was honored guest at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Emil Kantor, 921 10th St.

Mrs. Robert Knutson, Carson-Lupie Addition, was honored guest at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Nelson, 1318 First Ave. E.

Mrs. Ernest Sykes, Papermaker’s Colony, was honored at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. C. Urban, Papermaker’s Colony.

Eugene W. Earley, machinist’s mate second class, USN, arrived in San Diego, Calif., aboard the landing ship USS Catamount last week after being away from home waters since Nov. 7, 1951. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Earley, Poor Farm Road.

Ernest Loveland recently resigned his job in the Mando bag mill and has left for employment in Idaho.

Mrs. Joe Higby entertained for her son, Duane, at a birthday party on his fifth anniversary. Guests included Shirley Ann Ryan, Mike O’Leary Jr., Cordell Stone, Joan Johnson, Joyce Dumais, Doris and James Warmuth, Julie Ann Moen, John and Mary Nordlum, Sharon Lee, Beverly Jean, Yvonne Johnston, Jacqueline Sutliffe and Jo Ann Higby.

John Nordberg, who, as a member of the Minnesota Highway Patrol, has been active in border law enforcement circles for over six years, has resigned his post in order to campaign for the office of Koochiching County sheriff.

Mrs. Arthur Erickson, ritual chairman of the Women of the Moose, met with her committee members at the Moose Hall last evening. A handkerchief shower honoring Mrs. George Hanks was given. She and her family plan to leave Monday for San Diego, Calif., where Mr. Hanks has work in the Consolidated Aircraft plant.
