A picnic supper was held at the Donald Emery home in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Anderson, of Chester.
Israel’s swift midnight hanging of Adolf Eichmann evoked surprise around the world today. Few expressed sympathy for the former Nazi officer, but the suddenness of his execution drew scattered murmurs of disapproval.
L. LeVon Mann will graduate from St. Louis University School of Medicine tomorrow. He is the eldest son of the Rev. and Mrs. Lester L. Mann of the Rainy River Mennonite Church, the Falls.

Mrs. Howard Milette of Ranier was guest of honor at a stork shower Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Russell Swendsen, Ranier.
Miss Beverly Molstre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Molstre, returned from Gustavus Adolphus College, where she has completed her junior year. She will be employed for the summer at First National Bank.
Joan Bedessem, student at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, arrived home early this week for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bedessem, Border Locker Apartments.
1952-53 editors of Falls High News chosen in a recent staff election are: Ancy Tone, business manager; Joanne Beck, editor of the mimeograph sheet; and June Sullivan, editor-in-chief.
70 YEARS AGO
James, Ellen, Rosetta and Virginia Nagle entertained Scharmelyn, Virginia and Virgil Severson at dinner at their home. The Severson children will depart Saturday with their parents to make their home at Lake Kabetogama.
Mrs. Harvey Jackson, 320 Ninth St., accompanied by her daughter, Dorothy, returned from Chicago. Mrs. Jackson attended Miss Jackson’s graduation from the Swedish Covenant Hospital Nurses’ Training School.
The name of another Koochiching County youth has been added to the growing list of sailors and soldiers wounded in the United States’ six-month-old war. Latest victim is Robert Wynne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wynne Sr., who reside on Highway 53 just out of International Falls.
At initiation ceremonies Monday evening at the Moose Hall, Mrs. Stanley Hegg, Miss Helen Bray, Mrs. George Lisowski and Miss Blanche Carew became members of the Degree of Honor.
