A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Splett, Littlefork.
Lindy Keith Wallen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lindy Wallen, 909 10th St., was one of 368 students receiving degrees during graduation ceremonies on April 30 at Concordia College in Moorhead.
Mrs. Mabel Linsten was presented a life-membership certificate and a 50-year pin during ceremonies conducted Thursday evening by Star of the North Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rizzo, 1410 11th St., weight, 6 pounds, 6 ounces.
Three veteran Mando papermakers, with a combined total of 102 years of service in the papermaking industry, were promoted to the newly created position of tour paper machine superintendent at the Falls. Named tour superintendents are Herbert (Bert) Crotty, Wilfred (Shorty) Beach and Fred Emlaw.
Pvt. Donald Vold spent a five-day delay enroute furlough last week at LaCrosse, Wis., where he was visited by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gehart Vold.
Mrs. Ernest Johnson, 802 Sixth St., was guest of honor at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Nyland Olson, 807 Sixth St.

James Robertson came up from Littlefork today to accept a position as guard at the paper mill.
Larry Sizemore, well-known former resident, is now in the Army, according to letters recently received by his mother, Mrs. Charles Klabunde.
Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Williams of Ranier are the parents of an 8-pound son born at their home this evening.
Walter Peggar, of Fifth Avenue and Eighth Street, has been named by the Police Civil Service Commission to serve as extra policeman while regular officers take their vacations. Urban Kerry, originally named to the relief post, was unable to accept the appointment.
