Mrs. Linda Marie Green, daughter of Mrs. Myrtle Covel and the late Marvin Covel, was one of 754 students who graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, on June 14.
Daniel Charles Holland, was among the 759 men to graduate at the 202nd commencement exercise of Dartmouth College, held June 11.
Hugo Olson, paper mill millwright, and Roy Grotberg, Insulite tile inspector, retired this month.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gust, 7 pounds, 10 3/4 ounces.
Miss Joan Benedix, bride-to-be, was honored at a shower last evening at the Zion Lutheran Church parlors.

At 92, when most people are content to keep to their rocking chair, J.A. Mathieu of Fort Frances has issued the startling announcement that he is planning on building a modern sawmill at Rainy Lake.

Ruth Earley, aviation technician 1/c, Norfolk, Va., naval base, is spending a 30-day furlough at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Earley, Airport Road.
A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sather, South International Falls, 6 pounds, 11 ounces. Name chosen, Michael Loren.
Mrs. Warren Skifstrom, 111 13th St., was honored recently at a stork shower in the home of Mrs. Cecil Misner, 1416 First Ave. W.
Noel J. Gagnon, recent graduate of Falls High School, has enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and is now stationed at the training center at Lackland Field, San Antonio, Texas.
70 YEARS AGO
Kenneth Larson, 19, the youth who saved Muriel and Romelle Raymond from drowning in Rainy River June 13, is slated for some kind of medal or reward for his heroism. Mayor Krogseng suggested the city sanction some recognition of Larson’s bravery and the council members concurred.
Margaret Lundquist, Mando personnel department, resigned her position June 15 and hereafter will devote her time and efforts as a housewife. Good luck, Margaret! May all your troubles be little ones.
The new nurse’s office in the Insulite department opened recently and will be operated by Miss Mae Kruger.
Pvt. Milo Peterson arrived this morning from Fort Snelling to spend a short furlough before being assigned to his army post.
