Martha Gawtry, Judith Ditsch, Kathleen Gable and Cheryl Cole were recently awarded degrees at Bemidji State College.

Mrs. Adeline Downward and daughter Sylvelin, of Bemidji, former Falls residents, are spending about 10 days at their cabin on Black Bay, Rainy Lake.
The William Bruggeman home, 924 Third St., provided the setting for a miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Miss Betty Lou Dunham.
Falls High School student Freddie Mannausau, Indus, has been accepted to attend the University of Minnesota medical school for two months this summer.
Mrs. Mary Christie, who has spent the past four months visiting at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hall in Kansas City, Mo., returned last evening.

Robert Youso, 19, airman apprentice, has completed a course at the naval air technical training station, Jacksonville, Fla., and has been transferred to the naval air station at Memphis, Tenn., where he will study aviation structural mechanics.
Robert Evans, son of the Rev. and Mrs. R.O. Evans, 525 Sixth St., was a member of the St. Olaf College graduating class honored Monday at commencement ceremonies in Northfield.
Mrs. Lewis Reeve, 1104 10th St., was honored at a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Max Brindos, 311 Sixth St.
A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. William Sullivan, 619 Second St., 6 pounds, 2 ounces.

Mr. and Mrs. Arne Nygard of Holler announce the birth of a son today at the Laurion Maternity Home. Henry Elvin are names chosen for the child.
Warren Karlstad, Northwestern University athlete and son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Karlstad, Oveson Apartments, arrived Sunday from Evanston to spend the summer at home.
Robert Lundquist, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lundquist of Holler, is a patient in the Northern Minnesota Hospital. He suffered a serious cut to his hand last evening.
Urban Kerry has been appointed “extra man” on the International Falls police force and will see duty for 10 weeks while regular officers take their vacations this summer.
