Tuesday Musicale has announced its Music Camp Scholarship awards for 1987. Recipients are Raedean Lee, an eighth-grader at Backus, and Stacie Peterson, a sophomore at Falls High School.
Peter W. Villalta, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Villalta and Michael J. West, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. West, participated in graduation ceremonies May 24 at Saint John’s University.

Mrs. Eda Miller, former Falls resident now living in Antioch, Calif., arrived in the Falls recently to attend the graduation of her granddaughter, Carol Jean Miller, daughter of Mrs. Shirley Miller, 715 Ninth St.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gordon, 617 11th Ave., drove to Duluth to attend the commencement exercises at Stanbrook Hall, St. Scholastica. Their daughter, Kathleen, was a member of the graduating class.
Three 1962 graduates of Falls High School have been awarded scholarships. They are David Malmquist, Diane Keyes and Vicki Constantine.
Ray North Road News — Capp Homes of Des Moines, Iowa, delivered a six-room house to the Bob Staples location on Sunday afternoon. Bill Sorenson, the Falls, Hubert Brown, Ericsburg, Art Friberg, Lewis Marble and Charles Noack assisted in unloading.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. James Einarson, 505 Eighth Ave., 7 pounds, 8 ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Qualley are at home to friends in International Falls after a week’s honeymoon trip. They were married June 1 in Birchdale Congregational Church.
A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Don Petman, 614 Fifth Ave., weight, 8 pounds, 7 ounces. Name chose Catherine Corrine. Mr. Petman is Koochiching County 4-H Club supervisor.

70 YEARS AGO
Another of the pioneers of this community, Thomas P. White, 70, died this morning at his home, 914 Seventh St. In 1912 he was elected sheriff of Koochiching County and served until 1919. For three years he was custodian of the county poor farm. From 1923 to 1928 he was game warden of a large area in northern Minnesota. Since then he has worked in the woods and on various government projects.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor O’Brien (Evelyn Keyes), 617 Sixth St., are parents of a son born today at the Northern Minnesota Hospital. Patrick Henry are the names chosen for the child.
The swimming season has started without an attendant for the grounds and waterfront. Not a single application has been received for the job. Here are some requirements for the job: He must be an adult male, physically fit, possessing good judgment and unafraid of work. Besides, he must be a competent swimmer and experienced in life-saving tactics.
Donald Bowman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bowman of Ranier, who has been a patient in the Gillette Hospital, St. Paul, for five months, returned to his home. The boy was stricken with infantile paralysis last October and lost the use of his arm. He is fully recovered now.
