Mr. and Mrs. Paul Barstad of Littlefork and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Otto and Peggy visited at the Einar Sundin home in Ray Sunday afternoon to help Mrs. Sundin celebrate her birthday. Their son Dale called from Lackland Air Force Base in Texas where he is stationed.

A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Christenson.

Diane Parkin, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alec Parkin, was guest of honor at a birthday party in her honor at her parents’ home.

A Falls school teacher narrowly missed the perfect “300” game this week at Border Bowl. Lyle Gerard, a newcomer to the city, managed 11 strikes in a row.

Mr. and Mrs. Heige Jonson of Littlefork will be honored at an open house reception in the Evangelical Free Church on April 1 from 2 to 5 o’clock in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary.

A 7-year old South International Falls girl won high honors in the Rainy River district musical festival Saturday. Phyllis LaValley, the young musician, won the Class 53, Grade II, piano competition.

Mrs. Raymond Gorder, Pozniak Apartments, was guest of honor at a stork shower Friday evening in St. Paul’s English Lutheran Church parlors.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hartje, 602 12th Ave., weight, 9 pounds, 2 ounces. Name chosen, Mary Kay.

Members of the Tuesday Musicale last night heard a program based on German music presented by Mrs. Nick Kostiuk, vocalist, and Miss Patricia Lynch, pianist.

Dallas Braford, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Braford, left yesterday for Fort Snelling. He enlisted in the Army last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Kirvan of Van Lynn Road are the parents of a daughter born this afternoon at Northern Minnesota Hospital.

Miss Mary McDonald, 903 Sixth St., entertained at a party honoring Miss Ione LaPage who plans to leave next month for New York City.

Pvt. Dan McGauley is now located at Fort Lawton, Wash.
