Chris Verlenich, manager of Stevenson’s, was back at her duties Monday following a three-week absence during which she had undergone surgery in a Duluth hospital. “What started out as a vacation turned into hospitalization,” Chris added.
John Hammond just received word from his board of directors to increase his loans to deserving and secured customers up to $2,000. By doing this, John, who manages Standard Loan and Thrift at 231 Fourth Ave., states that he can give better and complete service.
A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Snyder, 6 pounds, 14 1/2 ounces.

Mrs. Raymond Bruyere, 503 Eighth St., was guest of honor at a handkerchief party Friday night at the home of Mrs. Pearl Maruk, who lives in another apartment at the same address. Mrs. Bruyere is leaving Monday for Crookston, where her husband has taken a position.
Wenberg’s Transfer left today for Virginia with the household furniture of Mrs. Sam Solomon.

Ruth Eidsburg, Falls High School senior, was awarded a $50 scholarship to the University of Minnesota beauty school. Ruth had the highest marks for students who wished to enter such a profession.
Robert Sether, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Sether of Seventh Avenue, was host to nine little boys and girls at a party honoring his fifth birthday Tuesday afternoon. Among the guests were Robert’s cousins, Ruth and Carol Jean Nygren, who have recently returned from Seattle.
The Red and White store has moved to a new location across the street into the building formerly occupied by Olga’s Tavern. Joe Oster, Proprietor.
Dean Gilchrist, in his first bid for public office, is seeking election to the post of alderman-at-large. Twenty-eight years old, he is employed as a salesman for Erickson Hardware.
