Ivan Stewart, owner of the Piggly Wiggly store, and his wife returned this week from a pleasant trip to the southern coast of Spain with a group of other grocers from the region. While watching a bull fight in a small town along the Mediterranean coast, Ivan thought he saw a couple of familiar faces in the crowd. Turned out to be Mr. and Mrs. Dick Mettler of South International, who were on a Kiwanis Club tour to the same country.
Miss Susan Museta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Museta, 612 10th St., and Miss Nancy Mellum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mellum, Pelland Junction, were among the 67 freshmen nursing students of St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Duluth, who were presented their caps at the capping ceremony held March 25 in Kirby Student Center at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kochaniuk, 8 pounds.
A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Herman, 6 pounds, 4 1/2 ounces.

Genevieve Curley was honored by 14 friends at a surprise birthday celebration on her 14th anniversary Saturday night. Games were played with prizes being won by Kathleen Allen and Robert Laurion.
Mrs. William Corrin, 426 1/2 Third St., was guest of honor at a stork shower in Ukrainian Hall. The honored guest was assisted in opening her many gifts by her sister, Betty Sumey and Miss Harriet Meyers.
Mrs. Harry Johnson, Papermakers Colony, was honored at a stork shower in Happy Hollow Community Club Hall. She was presented with a floral corsage and was assisted in opening her many gifts by her daughter, Kathleen Johnson.
Making his first bid for public office, Robert R. Bennett is running for election as alderman-at-large.

Henry James L’heureux, 21-year-old ship’s cook, is missing following action in performance of his duty with the United States Fleet in the Pacific, the Navy Department has informed his mother, Mrs. Nora L’heureux, Loman Route.
The Hi-Bidders Bridge Club was entertained at the home of Mrs. Stanley Louiseau, 620 Ninth St., with Mrs. Louiseau and Mrs. Rudolph Caple, hostesses.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dent (Harriet Christianson), 823 Sixth St., announce the birth of a daughter today at the Littlefork Hospital. Katherine Joyce are the names chosen for the child.
Experienced in municipal affairs through his work as city building inspector, Hugo Bergstedt has never held an elective public office, but this month decided to toss his hat in the ring for the post of alderman-at-large.
