Brent Ingvaldson and Gerald Kaminski, both enrolled in the telephone electronics II program at Wadena Area Vocational Technical Institute, have been named to the director’s list.
Kion Hoffman, son of Dr. and Mrs. Byron Hoffman, and a 1978 graduate of Falls Senior High School, has graduated with honors from the Oral Roberts University of Medicine.

Kermit F. Olson, immigration inspector at the Falls, received a special achievement award from Roy C. Munroe, Port Director of Customs, in recognition of significant contribution to the U.S. Customs enforcement program.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy contest winners are Debby Krats, first place winner locally, Greg Anderson, second place and Judy Kukuk and Bill Readman who tied for third.
In Wednesday Afternoon Women’s Bowling League Inez Hardwig was the winner of the high series with handicap with a 623 while Ann Johnson had the actual high with 580.

The International Falls school board recently hired John A. Franz as high school English and speech teacher. He will graduate in June from the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks.
A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Donald LaGoo, 6 pounds, 8 3/4 ounces.
School District 361 has hired Barbara McDowell as supervisor of elementary music. A native of Bemidji, she is currently teaching at Sauk Centre.
Miss Kay Kalar, a bride-elect, was guest of honor at a shower at the Ukrainian Hall. Miss Pat Lasich, who will be an attendant at the wedding, assisted with the gift opening.

Jimmy Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nichols, South International Falls, fell while playing on a merry-go-round and broke his right arm.
Misses Alice and Florence Hubbard, Keyes Apartments, are on a vacation trip to Chicago and Minneapolis and enroute home will attend an Episcopal church convention in Faribault. Miss Alice Hubbard is clerk in municipal court here.
Students of the home economics classes taught by Mrs. Margaret Porter at Falls High School will entertain ninth grade girls at a style show and tea at 1:30 Thursday in Backus Junior High School. Mrs. Ethel Ramstad, Miss Elsie Hensel and Mrs. Eleanor Ecklund, home economics teachers, also will be guests.
Fishing luck isn’t restricted to the men. Mrs. Iva Everson, South International Falls, and Mrs. Andrew Loftis, the Falls, caught their limits of walleyes in Black Bay on opening day. They were accompanied by Russell Raboin who also hooked his eight walleyes.

Mr. and Mrs. Easton Parsons, 1021 10th St., announce the birth of a daughter today at the Laurion Maternity Home. The Parsons have one other child, a son, Jimmie.
Philip F. Murray, new executive secretary of the Koochiching County welfare board, was formally introduced to his duties here at a regular monthly meeting of the board.
Mrs. John Norton, 920 Third St., was guest of her daughter, Miss Patricia Norton, May 17, for the traditional Mother-Daughter Day at the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth.
It’s Corporal Rodney Fairchild now. He’s stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash., where his unit, Company A, 184th Infantry, is preparing for active duty.
