Members of the Cindy’s Upholstery team that claimed the Border League bowling championship this past season include Lindy Dragon, Kyle Grill, Carolyn Brown, Mickey Belanger and Kerstin Krause.

In honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Tom and Doris Johnson all friends and relatives are invited to attend an open house on Saturday, June 6, from 2 to 5 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church.

The piano students of Mrs. Harold Tibbs were presented in recital to their parents at 7 o’clock May 24 in her home at 1109 Seventh St. Following the program, refreshments were served by Mmes. Gerald Goertz, Frank Ball Jr., Gloria Good and Miss Kathie Ash.

Mrs. Hanna E. Bergstrom, 79, of Loman, died early today in Falls Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bergstrom cooked in Oscar Bergstrom’s logging camp during the winter months and at Sha Sha and Rainy Lake Lodge in the summer months. She was manager of Parkway Cafe for seven years.

A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Horton.

50 YEARS AGO

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gaetzke, Littlefork.

Patti Pavek was elected honored queen of Job’s Daughters, Bethel 14. She will succeed Marcia Holbrook.

Anthony K. Nagurski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bronko Nagurski, Sunset Beach, Rainy Lake, will receive his bachelor of science in physics during commencement exercises at St. John’s University, Collegeville, tomorrow.

Lucina Raymond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alder Raymond, 524 Seventh St., a junior at College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, majoring in history and minoring in social studies and English, has been named to Pi Gamma Mu, a national honor society.

60 YEARS AGO

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hell, Loman Route, 5 pounds, 13 ounces. Name chosen, Roger Anthony.

A son was born today at La Verendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Fulton, weight, 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Name chosen, Terry.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. James Rasmussen, 408 10th St.

Two Falls business establishments will be moving early next week to new quarters after many years in their locations. The Lee Hat Shop, 305 Third St., and Jack and Jill Shop and Molstre Insurance Agency, 307 Third St., will be moving across the street to newly-remodeled quarters in the Morris Banen building, 300 Third St.

70 YEARS AGO

Mrs. Mitchell Burton, pioneer resident, left this morning for Fargo, N.D., to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Herbst.

Mrs. Dolphin Severson was guest of honor at a farewell party at her home in Papermakers Colony. Mrs. Severson will leave shortly with her husband and children for Lake Kabetogama to make their home.

Mrs. Darrel Wegner and Mrs. Ed Bolter were hostesses at a shower honoring Mrs. Frank Hoppe.

Mr. and Mrs. George Dilgers left for Bismarck, N.D. Mr. Dilgers, who has been employed at Pearson’s Bakery here, has obtained employment at Bismarck.
