Named to lead the 1973 Bronco gridders were defensive back Mike Frank and end Larry LePage.
Named captains for the Falls High School cross country team are John Irby and Scott Johnson.
Mr. and Mrs. Marsh Sether and Keith and Helmer Olson, all of International Falls, stopped at the Albert Hasbargens, Border, on their way back from visiting Mrs. Mel Larson in Baudette who was a patient in Trinity Hospital.
50 YEARS AGO
Six men who recently retired from Mando had been employed for the company for a total of 188 years. They are Arthur Larson, Harvey Dunahee, Andrew Danielson, Henry Unke, Robert Gordon and Bert Thunstrom.
Paul E. Radford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude H. Radford, 1301 14th Ave., recently was promoted to private first class in Germany where he is serving with the 84th Ordnance Battalion’s 50th Company
Mrs. John Gunderson, wife of the Rev. John Gunderson, assistant pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, was honored recently at a cradle shower in the church parlors.
Eight weeks ago, Susan Swendsen and Gail Anderson, both of Ranier, took a canoe trip before leaving for nurses’ training. Dan McCarthy gave the girls a tow to Kettle Falls aboard the “Danny.”

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Iver Veeda, 215 1/2 Second St., weight, 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Silvers, who recently moved to 620 Seventh St., from South International Falls, were honored at a surprise housewarming party Thursday evening.
Miss Mary Helen Gordon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Gordon, 422 Seventh St., and Miss Delores Dougherty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Dougherty, 720 Seventh St., left for Washington to be employed.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pihulak, who recently moved into their newly completed home at 132 Riverview, were honored at a surprise party Saturday night at Ukrainian Hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Arne B. Larson, 818 1/2 Seventh St., announce the birth of a son today at the Littlefork Hospital. Andre Pierre are the names chosen for the child.
Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Borg, 1019 Sixth St., are parents of a daughter born today at the Laurion Maternity Home. Leita Dee are the names chosen for the child.
Miss Gail Friedrich entertained her bridge club Friday at the Ernest Thiele home. Honors for the evening were won by Miss Irene Lenz and Miss Beryl Christensen.
Pvt. James Smith who is stationed at the Military Reservation, Richmond, Va., arrived this morning to spend his furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith.
