Mrs. Edna Evans, 77, widow of the late Rev. R.O. Evans, died early Thursday morning at the Falls Nursing Home.

The 16-day search for a Fort Frances hunter, Don Lovisa, ended this morning when his body was found about three-quarters of a mile from where he had entered the woods on Nov. 2.

The Daily Journal was a lively place last week as Falls High School students Cindy Griffith, Chip Manka, Maxine Tomczak and Connie Tweeter observed and assisted in the production of the newspaper. The regular staff dubbed them the "Gopher Kids."

Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Tilford Weum, Island View Route, are invited to attend a 25th anniversary open house in their honor from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Floyd Gustafson, Island View Route.

Janet Gail Nyberg, 1623 Second Ave. E., a junior at Wheaton College, Illinois, is a member of the Women's Glee Club. A second year member, Miss Nyberg sings first soprano and accompanied them on their spring tour last year.

"Rainy" Larson, former local papermaker, who left here in 1928 and now of Hoquiam, Wash., is visiting local relatives including Art Larson, Harold Larson and Mrs. Robert Taylor.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Orville Knaffla, 7 pounds, 10 ounces.

Mrs. Henry Selover, Henry's Cabins, was honored at a stork shower in Happy Hollow Community Club Hall, Papermaker's Colony.

Mr. and Mrs. Hilmer Rud, Birchdale, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessie Darlene, to Ivan John Dahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Dahl, Loman.

Mrs. Eino Rinne, 1029 1/2 Seventh St., was honored at a stork shower at her home.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Knapp announce the birth of a son, Ronald LeRoy, today at the Littlefork Hospital.

Miss Jeanne Skrief was the guest of honor at a coffee party given by the girls in the office of Minnesota and Ontario Paper Company. Miss Skrief, who has been employed there, has accepted a position in the office of L.P. Blomholm.

Aldo DeMarchi was announced as the new Bronco football captain next season.

Miss Doris Swenson, daughter of Mrs. Clara Swenson, underwent an operation for appendicitis at the Littlefork Hospital.
