A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gustofson, Lake Kabetogama.
Sophomore Reid Toninato is playing for the St. Cloud State Huskie pucksters this year.
Nov. 30 will be the last day of work for four veteran employees of Boise Cascade Paper and Insulite mills. Retiring from Paper Division this month are Clement Sabourin, garage mechanic; Stanley Louiseau, storekeeper; George Olson, plant guard; and from Insulite Louis Overton, truck driver. The four employees will be 65 this month.

An open house in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Makinen, Island View Route, last Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.
A birthday party for Mrs. Chester Genzel was held at the home of Mrs. Max Goulet, 418 Seventh St., Tuesday afternoon. She received a personal gift from her friends.
A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Hokenson, 8 pounds, 2 ounces.
Mrs. Dean Orwig was guest of honor at a stork shower in the Vernon Francis home, 2000 Fifth Ave. E.

John Cullen Jr. was named president of the Papermakers Colony 4-H Club at a meeting of the group at the home of Colleen Kirtland.
A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pariseau, 821 Sixth St., weight, 8 pounds, 4 ounces.

70 YEARS AGO
Miss Cleo Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Peterson, will leave this evening for Des Moines, Iowa, to begin active duty with the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. She has been employed in the bindery department of The Daily Journal.
Miss Dorothy Lussier left last week for San Diego, Calif., where she will be employed.
Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Edith Christine Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Axel Johnson of Fort Frances to Paul Reuter Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reuter, 701 Seventh St. The wedding was performed here Nov. 26.
Miss Beryl Cunningham was elected president of the Teachers Association. Other officers elected are Miss Esther Hendrickson, vice president; Miss Clara Mitchell, secretary; and Miss Ethel Ramstad, treasurer.
