Miss Brenda Toninato, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Toninato, 1402 14th St., enlisted in the U.S. Women of the Air Force (WAF) Nov. 17.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Mathews returned home from Union, Ohio, where they spent the Thanksgiving weekend with their son and daughter-in-law and children.

A girl was born today at LaVerendrye Hospital, Fort Frances, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miggins, Minneapolis, 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Dehart, 4 pounds, 12 1/4 ounces, Donald Lee.
A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Oliver LeGerrie, 8 pounds, 1/4 ounces.
Lt. (j.g.) Robert H. Paquin, a graduate of the Falls High School Class of 1950, has been cited by the Navy for outstanding contribution to the service.

Patrick McKibbage, 7, underwent a tonsillectomy this morning at Falls Memorial Hospital. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John McKibbage, Iltis Apartments.
Blackie’s Cafe, operated by Mr. and Mrs. Albert St. Pierre, will open for business at 308 Third St. at 11 a.m. Monday. The eating establishment is located in the building previously occupied by the Boston Cafe, which was closed with the recent retirement of the owner Gus Spath.
Cpl. Howard Viger, 21, arrived home Thanksgiving evening after receiving his discharge from the Army.
Donald Murray, 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Murray, 1103 Sixth St., suffered a broken right leg at 5:30 p.m. when he was struck by a car while crossing a street near his home.

At the end of the second six weeks period, the senior class placed three girls — Betty Jean Johnson, Louise Koerbitz and Audrey Sterna — on the straight “A” honor roll while the junior class placed two boys — Arthur Holmstrom and William Phaklides. The sophomore class was not represented.
Every noon on school days, bus students participate in sports activities in the school gym. The main activity is volleyball. The boys’ teams are captained by Robert Ness, Mustangs; Carl Kantor, Flying Tigers; Gordon Thomas, Raners; and Walter Francis, Commandos.
Shirley Selberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Selberg, 506 Ninth St., was guest of honor at a party, the occasion being her 12th birthday.
A post-nuptial shower was given at Crystal Beach resort last evening honoring Mrs. Philip Weir (Betty Green), a bride of September.
