Kelly Robertson, Route 8, a student at Falls Senior High School, has been accepted for enrollment at Moorhead State University.

The Falls K Mart awarded 5- and 10-year pins to its employees on Friday. Those recognized include Margaret Roeder, Susan Rosenthal, Donald Heppner, Jodi Ellison, Trent Frahm and Barbara Lorenson.

The Lions of the seventh grade captured the recreation league football title. Team members are Tim Ostroot, Randy Hodel, Howard Nevanen, Stephen Reyes, Bobby Grafsgaard, Tim Clarity, Richard Vance, Ricky Skrien, Greg Johnson, Todd Summer, Dean Krats, Scott Schlieff, Randy Hart, Allan Nagle, Robert Black and Kurt Knapp.

There will be an open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dault on their 25th wedding anniversary in their home at 11th Avenue and 15th Street Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

The border city council last night appointed Albert F. Cousins, 58, of  St. Louis Park to serve as city engineer at an annual salary of $10,000.

A boy was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rasmussen, 8 pounds, 13 3/4 ounces.

Mr. and Mrs. William Frank, 1701 Third Ave. E., South International Falls, announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Marie, to Duane Rodger Krueger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle C. Krueger, 105 Park Ave.

 

60 YEARS AGO

A generous border city housewife hit the tricks-and-treats “jackpot” Halloween night. Keeping count of her young visitors, Mrs. Madge Rauch, 800 Third St., dished out candy and cookies to a total of 95 children. The last caller, an 8-year-old girl, knocked at the door at 11:30 o’clock.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. James Kirk, Island View Route, weight, 7 pounds, 6 ounces.

Mr. and Mrs. Barney Pickar of Littlefork announce the engagement of their daughter, Beverley Ann, to John Dilworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Dilworth Sr., South International Falls.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bancroft, Island View Route, weight, 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Name chosen, Edward James.

 

70 YEARS AGO

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kerry, 913 Sixth St., are parents of a daughter born today at the Laurion Maternity Home. Nancy Ann are the names chosen for the child.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McDonald, French Addition, are parents of a son born today at their home. Wayne Walter are the names chosen for the child.

Marvin Delaino are the names chosen for the son born recently to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Averill, Ericsburg, at their home.

Gerald “Bud” Grimboldy, arrived home Sunday from Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Ill., to spend his leave here.  On his return he expects to enter a motor machinists’ school.
