Mrs. William Pautz, 15th Street and Second Avenue East, entertained at a birthday party in honor of her son, Michael, who was 2 years old.

Mr. and Mrs. George Esslinger, owners of Esslinger’s Resort on Lake Kabetogama, observed their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday at an open house at the resort.

Mrs. H.H. Brown, 1102 Seventh St., and Mrs. Howard Wheeler will serve morning coffee from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mrs. Brown’s home in benefit of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Vivian Louise Borg and Otto Kuehne were united in marriage in a double-ring candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

60 YEARS AGO

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Gustafson of Bigfork announce the engagement of their daughter, Corinne, to David Parmeter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Parmeter, Littlefork.

A brother team that has served the Mando organization more than 40 years was parted last month with the retirement of Elmer N. Ogran, veteran rewinder man in the paper machine room at the Falls. Elmer’s brother, Sam, is a machine tender in the same department.

Mrs. Edgar Giaugue, 1118 Ninth St., was honored at a stork shower at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary Zdeb, 706 Fourth Ave.

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nelson of Loman celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Saturday during an open house event arranged by their daughters, Mrs. Aina Metcalf and Mrs. Bert Dahl.

Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Mio, 1018 Ninth St., are parents of a son born today at the Laurion Maternity Home.

A son was born today to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Palmer (Marie Gust) at the Laurion Maternity Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Wagner of Holler are parents of a daughter born today at the Northern Minnesota Hospital.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Tim Pettis at the Littlefork Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 27.
