Paul Reuter Jr. retired recently from the Metropolitan Life Insurance Agency after 25 years with the organization.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kleis Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Iver Cassibo announce the engagement of their children, Julie Ann and Arthur Brian.

This year’s majorettes for Falls High School marching band are Brenda Leggett, Cindy Howdahl, Terri Walls, Ronda Peterson, Barb Rohl, Wendy Sellman, Teresa Carey and Cheryl Sullivan.

Crowned senior Homecoming king and queen are Brad McIntosh and Joanne Rehn.

Mr. and Mrs. George Mathews Sr., 1109 11th Ave., were honored guests last evening at a dinner at the home of their granddaughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Elaine) Bangen, 1017 10th St. The occasion was the 57th wedding anniversary of the couple.

Mr. and Mrs. Browman Nyberg, South International, will be honored at an open house Sunday from 3 to 5 o’clock at the Mission Covenant Church. The occasion is their 25th wedding anniversary.

An open house for Mr. and Mrs. Christ Bly was held last Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gustafson, Riverside Park. The event was in honor of the Bly’s 61st wedding anniversary.

Dennis G. Foyt, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Foyt of South International, enlisted in the Marine Corps “J” program.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mongrain, weight, 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

Pam Morse, Albert Turenne, Patricia Makidon and James Glowack were elected to represent their classes as attendants to the homecoming royalty.

King and queen candidates for this year’s Homecoming are Janice Johnson, Joan Von Druska, Mary Jean Nordlum, Janet Pavek, Gerald Herman, Warren Horgen, Raymond Hardy, Donald Anderson and Ronald Peterson.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. John Caple, Ericsburg, weight, 7 pounds.

 

70 YEARS AGO

Armond Sequin, of 503 Eighth Ave., motion picture machine operator at Border Theater for several years, left early today for active duty with the Army Air Corps.

Miss Mary Headsten, Keyes Arcade, is recuperating at home following a tonsillectomy performed at the Littlefork Hospital.

Mrs. Clayton Blake, Carson-Lupie, was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party at her home Saturday afternoon.

Miss Frances Pehrson and Mrs. Ray Nelson were hostesses at a shower at the home of Miss Pehrson, Craig Apartments, complimenting Mrs. Arne Larson.
