A boy was born Oct. 14 at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Amie White, 7 pounds, 12 ounces.
Lowell N. Schwankl, Clarence Joseph Tracy and Pamela Susan Walker have been honored for their high performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test given last spring.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. William Sheasby, 304 Sixth St., weight, 6 pounds, 8 ounces.
A son was born Tuesday at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. James Porter, Island View Route, weight, 7 pounds, 8 ounces. Name chosen, Bruce Edward.
Charles J. Erickson, veteran Mando employee who terminated 28 years of service with the company with his retirement Sept. 15, was one of the original members of the guard force established in 1941, just prior to the start of World War II.
Mrs. Pearl Maruk, 503 Eighth St., was honored on her birthday anniversary with a family gathering at her home. All her children and grandchildren were present.
70 YEARS AGO
Mel Henry, local agent for Matthews Freight service, has obtained a leave of absence from his duties and plans to go west with his family in an effort to regain his health.
Twin sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Porter (Grayce Larson), 1117 11th Ave.,, today at the Littlefork hospital. The children will be named Joel and James.
Jimmy Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Wagner, 303 Eighth St., celebrated his birthday Saturday by entertaining six of his friends at a theater party.
Pete Tomas of Loman underwent an appendectomy at the Northern Minnesota Hospital.
