Mrs. Louis Nolin, along with her son and daughter, are enjoying a trip to Italy. Mrs. Olive Frahm is assisting at the Woodland Inn during her absence.
Herbert A. Philbrick, former F.B.I. counter-spy who is best known for the TV drama “I Led Three Lives,” patterned after his experience, will speak here Nov. 19.

Mrs. Clara Solberg, 1602 Main Ave., was guest of honor at a farewell party at the home of Mrs. Laura Dessin, 518 Seventh St. Mrs. Solberg will leave shortly to spend the winter months in Grand Rapids with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David Shaw.
Gerald D. Steele, airman apprentice, USN, son of Mrs. Margaret Steele of 1418 First Ave., E., was graduated Sept. 20 from the aviation structural mechanic school at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn.
Miss Karen Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ross, 1305 Ninth Ave., has been chosen to represent the students of the University of Minnesota Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the third congress of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists to be held in Philadelphia Oct. 23-25.
Dutch Van Etten, former Golden Glover from the Falls, has been doing well for himself as a professional bowler on the West Coast, it was learned today from his brother, Ray, who is visiting friends in the Falls but makes his home in Los Angeles.

Three additions to the engineering and research staffs of Minnesota and Ontario paper company at International Falls were announced this week by J.B. Faegre, president. The new staff members are: Ernest Gustafson, hydraulic engineer; Warren T. Peterson, project engineer; and Carroll M. Thureen, research chemist.
Fifty one years is a long time to devote to the printing trade — or any trade — but that’s the record Eugene F. Holler achieved prior to his retirement from Border Publishing Company service last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank King, 924 Third St., left for California where they plan to make their home. The Kings, who have resided here for about 40 years, are leaving the border because of Mr. King’s health.
